A portion of Boulevard road along the world famous Dal Lake in the summer capital, Srinagar, collapsed on its own on Wednesday, badly affecting traffic movement in the area.
Official sources said that panic gripped Dal Gate in civil lines on Wednesday evening when a portion of Boulevard road collapsed at Badyari Chowk in Srinagar. “A scooty that was parked on the roadside fell into the lake,” they said, adding no one was injured in the accident.
They said traffic has been stopped on the road and vehicles are being allowed to move on the other side of the road. “Traffic has also been stopped on the bridge adjoining to the damaged road,” they added.
